Description
Summary/Objective

The role of Production Operator supports manufacturing processes to execute planned production work, primarily through the operation of industrial mixing and converting equipment utilized for the manufacture of Prepreg and Adhesive products.

Responsibilities include equipment set-up, operation, and clean down against defined standards to directly support the Lead Operator and ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals for the work cell are consistently achieved.

The Production Operator role requires support of and adherence to all safety standards, personal protective equipment requirements, reporting requirements, and safe working practices in the manufacturing environment.

Quality and productivity objectives are supported by ensuring documented processes are followed, accurate records are kept per defined requirements, and a general customer focus is adopted to support the wider goals of the organization.

Essential Functions

The following is a non-exclusive list of the essential functions of the position, which are listed in no particular order:

  • Comply with company policy, safety, and regulatory requirements, and apply knowledge in those areas to all functions of role
  • Apply safe working practices, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required for large scale industrials mixing and converting equipment, and associated chemical handling
  • Demonstrate awareness of Quality culture and execute against defined Quality policies, operating instructions, and standard operating conditions for equipment and processes
  • Communicate quality issues or defects encountered to the production Lead, Supervisor or Manager and support timely corrective actions driven at the management level
  • Perform tasks assigned by the Lead Operator, Supervisor, or Manager associated with set-up, machine operation, and cleaning activities to meeting planned work schedules and meet productivity goals.
  • Support the wider organizational goals with adoption of process and policy changes, and general support for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manual job requirements include standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, as well as frequently and repeatedly lifting and/or moving up to 55 pounds (25Kg).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Tiers
The organization defines and assigns the applicable level of the Production Operator role for any given individual based on demonstrated experience, knowledge, and internal training criteria.

Levels are applied at the discretion of management, reviewed on an annual basis, and include criteria in the table below along with any other criteria deemed relevant to an individual’s performance.

Senior Ceramic Chemical Engineer - Santa Ana, CA

Summary/Objective

The role of Ceramic Engineer is to develop, oversee, optimize, and troubleshoot manufacturing
processes to produce ceramic composite materials. This position requires a person to perform work with minimum supervision, exercising judgment and initiative.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement new and improved processes on Silicon Carbide Composite area.
  • Expected to work on all phases of development including material science research, process and product development and the implementation of this work into R&D demonstrations, scaleup and full-scale manufacturing
  • Apply composite and ceramic material engineering principles to enable manufacturing of high temperature composite and ceramic parts, including ceramic matrix composites, and fabrication methods and associated processes
  • Interface with suppliers regarding technical issues concerning raw materials, parts fabrication, new materials/processes, and/or review of manufacturing plans
  • Conduct training sessions on new material products, applications, or manufacturing methods for customers and their employees.
  • Material characterization and process development, including selection of materials and processes for parts and products
  • Participate in non-conformance disposition and corrective action processes

  • Execute and/or support commercial and manufacturing requests

  • Schedule and coordinate projects to align with deadlines and budgets.
  • Prepare estimates of production cost and production progress report for management.
  • Establish safety procedures for those working with dangerous chemicals.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be visiting manufacturing sites and areas and may be subject to typical manufacturing hazards (moving pieces of equipment, loud noises, chemicals, etc.). TSE is continuously faced with several projects considered to be high priority. Project work must continue while assuring that day-to-day operations continue, and technical problems are resolved. Visits to continuing education, conferences, and management seminars are expected.

Physical Demands
The employee is required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time. Minimal physical exertion is required; however, employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., must remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

Travel
Occasional customer visits are expected, which may include air travel.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Ceramic Engineering or other relevant engineering degree required.
  • 5 to 10 years of technical experience in ceramic engineering with an emphasis on non-oxide ceramic materials
  • Strong & effective communication skills, written and spoken.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Summary/Objective

To process and report treasury, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and aid controller in cash flow management.

Treasury

  • Process Wire, ACH and check payments
  • Manage credit card entries, reconciliations, and accounting
  • Assist Controller with Cash Flow forecasting and reporting
  • Process financial transactions in accounting and reconcile bank accounts
  • Manage Customer, Vendor portals for collection and billing processes

Accounts Receivable

  • Follow receivables collection process through Wires, ACH, Checks or Credit Card
  • Handling new customer’s credit application, trade references and bank information.
  • Communicate with customer’s finance team to confirm balances and collect AR balance within due date
  • Prepare or Process/Apply Credit Memos in accounting
  • Update Daily Cash Workbook

  • Process accounts payable by verifying incoming bills with 3-way match and make accounting entries
  • Ensure and document signed Purchase Requisitions or approvals for non-PO-related invoices
  • Process Wires, ACH and Checks and maintain all records pertaining to payments
  • Create templates in Bank and submit for approval
  • Verify Banking information with vendors and prepare credit applications for new vendors
  • Assist Supply Chain/Purchasing Dept. in accounting matters
  • Document/File expense reimbursement reports for accounting purposes

Other

  • Manage the financial accounting including updating the Prepaid Expenses and Accrued Liabilities schedules for month end closing
  • Follow lease agreements, insurance policies and archival of accounting and finance documents
  • Perform accounts receivable and payable confirmations and accounting reconciliations
  • Handle financial reporting to Parent Company Kordsa in Turkey
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
